summer time ramblings

I look forward to my weekly beat science sessions with James Lauer, reiligiously. I look forward to my tuesday, thursday futebol games on the cut. So far I have managed to sprain two different thigh muscles and injure my left knee to where walking is a painfull option, like today. But ofcourse I never let these injuries heal properly only to return to the pitch too soon and prolong the pain, or maybe I'm just a masochist. I look forward to moving into a new apartment next month.

Then there's the drum and bass sessions with Mihir which I think I've come to enjoy so much thanks to his state of the art turntables. I look forward to experimenting with something new in the kitchen atleast once a week - last week it was chilli fried fish in black bean sauce with shitake mushrooms and peppers. I look forward to the bi-weekly disccusions on globalization in Silvia's class. There never seems to be enough time to talk about it all but then again these discussions are a never ending cycle of opining, except for when the presenters take the floor. In 2 weeks we heard about the economics of child labor, shortage of health care personnel globally, Brazil and India's battle against AIDS, China's energy security policy and CAFTA.

And then, there are the impluslive decisions to spice things up - mid-day happy hours, sunday night binges, late night readings at 61c, floetry nights at Shadow Lounge, discovering that there's a Moroccan store near my house that sells exotic drums, exploring Carnegie musuem of art and special visits from special people...
