numbed

Watched Osama last night. No, its not about Bin Laden but a story far more powerful and moving. Part of me is seething inside but a greater part is just depressed. Maybe thats why I slept through my alarm this morning and didn't wake up in time to go skiing.

As much as the movie destroyed my mood I still think we all need healthy doses of such films every now and them.

Comments:
whats the movie about? maybe another blog on the story. Seems like a movie i'd want to check out

Here is a good synposis of the movie I found online. Its a movie that could impact each of us in a unique way. I found it more depressing/moving than Hotel Rwanda simply because of its "cinematic minimalism". Very realistic and void of facetious drama. But again, thats just my take on it. Its a must watch, undoubtedly.

I saw that movie with my dad and he said 'it's like babylon'. That existence is so far from our own that is too unreal to fathom. I think the most angry scene was when the old man perfunctorily washed himself at the end.

(p.s. was Nedjma on your site earlier? I just picked up that book, 'L'Amande')

you speak of "The Almond" by Nedjma? Never blogged about it nor read it, though I have heard of it. Many moons shall pass before I find the time to read it. Erotic fiction with an ulterior purpose.. Ah I love it:)

The same person who recommended it to me also told me of 'words without borders'- http://www.wordswithoutborders.org . In case you haven't check it out, do so. You would love it.
